Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data Fortely ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our automated website monitoring service (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors of our marketing site and to registered account holders.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — name and email address, collected via our authentication provider when you sign up or sign in
  • Site configuration — the URLs you add for monitoring, scan schedules, device profiles (mobile/desktop), and which pages you choose to watch
  • Scan results — data generated by crawling the pages you configure: scores, detected issues, page content signals, screenshots, and historical trends. This can include content from third-party pages you've asked us to monitor
  • Contact form submissions — name, email address, and message content when you reach out to us
  • Billing information — plan and subscription status; card and payment details are handled directly by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers
  • Usage and log data — standard request logs (IP address, browser/user-agent, timestamps) generated by our hosting provider

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Operate the Service — run scheduled scans, store results, and show them on your dashboard
  • Send email alerts you've enabled — regressions, security findings, downtime, SSL-expiry warnings, and weekly digests
  • Respond to messages sent through the contact form
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service
  • Improve the Service based on aggregated, de-identified usage patterns

4. Cookies and similar technology

We use essential cookies set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the Service. If that changes, we will update this policy.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with the following categories of service providers ("sub-processors") strictly so they can help us run the Service:

  • Authentication provider — to manage sign-in and account identity
  • Database and application hosting providers — to store your account, site configuration, and scan data, and to run the application
  • Email delivery provider (SMTP) — to send alert emails and contact-form correspondence
  • Payment processor — to handle subscription billing, if you are on a paid plan

6. Data retention

We retain account and scan data for as long as your account is active, so you can view historical trends. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information and site configuration within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (for example, billing records) by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most account and site data yourself from the dashboard, or contact us to make a request. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email digests at any time; we'll still send transactional alerts tied to a service you've actively configured, unless you delete the underlying site or account.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

Fortely is operated from the United States, and the infrastructure providers we use may process and store data in the United States or other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in a country other than your own.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here with a new "last updated" date.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy, or requests regarding your personal information, can be sent to hello@fortely.io or via our contact page.
